United Way is focusing on:

  • Improving families' ability to meet basic needs

Why is it important?
Everyone in our community needs to be able to support themselves, which means getting a job, managing money wisely, owning or renting a home, and saving for the future. One of the best solutions is to get more people financially stable and out of distress, which will make Marathon County a more desirable place to live and work.

What are we doing about it?
More people in our community are having a tough time making ends meet and United Way has responded by increasing funding for safety net/basic needs services.  In addition, United Way is launched a new program, Project Step Up, aimed at helping working families become financially stable.

Your gift will fund:

  • Programs that will educate residents on managing their financial resources
  • Providing basic safety net services like food and housing for people in crisis
