RSVP: Connecting Volunteers 55+ to Community Needs
What is RSVP?
RSVP is a volunteer program which invites persons 55 and over to respond to community needs in Marathon County.
Whether you live in Wausau or one of Marathon County's rural communities, there are volunteer opportunities available for you. RSVP offers high flexibility and choice to volunteers and matches personal interests with ongoing or one-time opportunities to serve. For example, you could:

visit and offer companionship for seniors
help victims of domestic abuse
care for shelter animals
...and much more!
Benefits of joining RSVP:
improve your health, happiness and well-being
meet new friends and neighbors
know your time is well spent serving a community need
enjoy exciting and varied volunteer opportunities
experience personalized service from an RSVP program coordinator
take advantage of flexible scheduling
get peace of mind with supplemental accident, auto liability and volunteer liability insurance
feel appreciated at our annual volunteer recognition celebration
Free Blood Pressure Screenings
RSVP is providing free blood pressure screenings in our community that are staffed by volunteer nurses. When you attend a free blood pressure screening, you will receive your results on a personal tracking card. Other educational materials related to hypertension will be available. Screenings are held on a monthly schedule at regular sites, making it convenient for you to monitor your blood pressure on a regular basis.
