Leadership Giving Opportunities
Individual donations are vital to United Way's efforts to improve people's lives and create lasting change in our community. Our leadership giving demonstrates the voluntary caring spirit that is very much alive in Marathon County.
Please join this caring group of generous individuals who lead the way in advancing the common good in our community. Because of the compassion of United Way supporters, children are nurtured, the elderly remain independent, basic needs are met, and youth have opportunities for success.

Tocqueville Society: Donors giving $10,000+. More than 100 years ago, French aristocrat Alexis de Tocqueville traveled extensively throughout the United States and marveled at the young nation's generous spirit. His travels were the basis of a book, Democracy in America, in which he wrote, "When an American asks for the cooperation of his fellow citizens, it is seldom refused; and I have seen it afforded spontaneously and with great good will."
In 1994 the United Way of Marathon County affiliated with the Alexis de Tocqueville Society. Currently there are eleven members.
