 Women In Action
Women in Action members are dedicated to making a difference through focused philanthropic giving, advocacy and volunteerism.
What We Do
Women in Action provides the opportunity for you to participate at the level that works for you. You can attend events, volunteer, join a committee or simply make a financial contribution.
Christmas for Mommies
Members collect, create and deliver baskets full of items for hard working, low income mothers that are affiliated with Head Start of Wausau and/or Project Step Up and have shown motivation to better the lives of their families.
Project Step Up
Project Step Up is a key project of Women In Action, dedicating a majority of funds, volunteer service and support toward the success of the families enrolled in this life changing program.
Through Project Step Up, families have access to individual mentoring which will promote positive behaviors, and provide greater hope and confidence for their future. Often times, all a family needs is a different perspective, support of others and connections to community resources. In 2011, Women In Action provided incentives to families who met their goals of savings, paying off debt and improving their financial stability.
