Marathon County has over 7,500 students in 4K through 8th grade that are *eligible to receive a new, FREE, backpack filled with basic school supplies for the upcoming school year through the Workplace Volunteer Council’s Fill A Backpack Fill A Need (FABFAN) project. To be *eligible to participate in FABFAN, students must be entering 4K through 8th grade and qualify for free or reduced lunch at school based on family income and size.
Last year, FABFAN distributed over 3,900 backpacks to children in need in Marathon County. Since 1999, FABFAN has given away over 68,900 new backpacks filled with school supplies and our work is not done…
Collect items now through August 16.
Items from this WISH LIST will be delivered to J & D Tube Benders, the collection site, the week of August 16.

Monetary donations can be mailed to the Workplace Volunteer Council, P.O. Box 1384, Wausau, WI 54402. Checks should be made payable to WVC – FABFAN.
Public Drop Sites: Prevail Bank, Health in Motion, Cloverbelt Credit Union (all locations in Marathon County), and AbbyBank (all locations in Marathon County). Each site is setting its own collection dates. Donors should contact the drop site for their collection dates.
BMO Harris Bank has invited FABFAN to be their featured non-profit at the August 4th Concert in the Square. “Mama Ginger” will be playing. Donations will be accepted (school supplies and/or money) from 5 pm to 7 pm at the event.
