April is volunteer month
Wausau, WI- United Way of Marathon County has many volunteer opportunities in which people can get involved. United Way recognizes and appreciates our office, project, board, committee, event, corporate, and now, virtual and remote volunteers!
April is National Volunteer Month and we recognize the thousands of people who volunteer their time, talent, expertise and kindness.
United Way of Marathon County volunteers put in over 54,990 hours in 2020. A tremendous effort indeed. Amid a pandemic, our volunteers adapted to the ever-changing situation with COVID-19. Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers served at 43 volunteer stations in our community. This April, during National Volunteer Week, ask yourself “Could I volunteer some of my time to help my community?” Check out the many volunteer opportunities available:
The Get Connected Volunteer website had 68,500 “needs” views during 2020. Normal need views per day on the site number 100-200 but in later March 2020, we had 600-700 need views per day!
