Volunteer for the Point in Time Count on the night of January 22, 2020
If you are interested in helping identify the number of individuals experiencing homelessness in the Greater Wausau Area, we encourage you to register. Individual and team registrations are available. Team must be no more than 4 people.
The Point in Time Count will occur between 11:00pm on January 22 through 3:00am on January 23, 2020. The Count headquarters will again be at the First United Methodist Church, 903 3rd St, Wausau, WI.
Duties: In teams of three to four, walk or drive to assigned geographic areas in the Greater Wausau Area and share resources and survey individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
Training for New Volunteers:
- Wednesday, January 15 12pm-1pm at United Way of Marathon County
- Wednesday, January 22 (night of the Count), 9:45 pm at the First United Methodist Church
- Arrive at the First United Methodist Church at 10:30 pm on Wednesday, January 22, to complete volunteer paperwork.
Orientation for All Volunteers:
- At 10:45pm on January 22, an orientation session for all volunteers (returning and new) will begin in the Church’s Fellowship Hall.
Parking at First United Methodist Church – Please park in the parking lot on the north side of the church off Fulton Street and enter the door with the Point in Time signage.
This opportunity is outdoors. Volunteer apparel and physical condition must be conducive to spending several hours outdoors.
