Virtual Book Club: Educated

Join Women United Council member, Erika Van De Yacht, as she leads a discussion on Educated, an award-winning memoir by Tara Westover.  

Described as an account of the struggle for self-invention, Educated tells the story of Tara Westover, who was born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho and age 17 was the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, eventually taking herself all the way to Harvard and beyond.  

Engage with Women United members in discussing this coming-of-age story that gets to the heart of what an education is and what it offers: the perspective to see one’s life through new eyes, and the will to change it.
