School Grants Awarded 
 
[Wausau, WI] United Way of Marathon County, Emerging Leaders, awarded $5,000.00 in grants.  

A dedicated team of Emerging Leaders Board members carefully reviewed 36 school grant applications for 2022.  They have selected twelve award recipients to receive a one-time grant.  These schools, teachers, and classrooms have shown dedication to our local youth in a variety of ways.  

Congratulations to: 
Edgar High School- Athletes in Action, student-athletes with opportunities to give back to the school and the community through servant leadership volunteering
Edgar Middle School- Math League, and hosting a competition this year
Wausau John Muir Middle School- Students with disabilities, coffee cart
Wausau West High School- City bus passes for students, during winter months to remove this barrier to their education, and are not eligible for school bussing 
Wausau John Muir Middle School Orchestra- a new piano/keyboard 
Wausau Horace Mann and John Muir Middle Schools- GT Robotics Club
Wausau Lincoln and Hawthorn Elementary Schools- Art for a 3D Printer to use with 4th-5th grade students 
Wausau Rib Mountain Elementary- 4 Spheros- for coding skills for 4th graders 
Stratford Middle & High School- Autism Curriculum 
Stratford High School-Special Education, Sewing Machines
Mosinee High School- PRIDE Club (Perseverance, Respect, Inclusivity, Diversity, Education) "No Bullying November" each week focuses on an aspect of respect for all
DC Everest Riverside Elementary- Students with disabilities- Friendship Friday Bins
