Week of Action

Week of Action we had 70 volunteers give 118.75 hours to serve 18 community agencies through projects addressing HUNGER, LITERACY, HEALTH, and SAFETY. Projects included Sock Sorting- 2,067 pairs of socks, distributed to 5 schools and 6 agencies. Make a Difference Kits, 150 kits to be distributed to seniors & homebound adults. Summer Slide Reading Kits, 200 distributed for 4 school districts with 7 volunteers. Medicine Safety Kits, 144 assembled for social services and public health with 9 volunteers. Snack Packs, 1,000 food kits for children with 24 volunteers. Calm Kits- 100 made for Head Start with 14 volunteers.  We would like to thank members of Women United, Emerging Leaders, and Retired United who volunteered their time during this week as well as companies, community members, and children.
