Lunch, Learn, and Do - Period Poverty

Despite being a basic need, menstrual hygiene products are not covered by government assistance programs, and are rarely provided at no cost in schools. Find out how this issue affects people in our community, and take part in a project that will help make these products accessible to local students!

During this one hour session, you will hear a short presentation about how a lack of menstrual hygiene products has ripple effects for families in our community. Then, you will help create period kits to be provided to local schools. These kits will include hygiene products as well as notes of encouragement for the students who receive them. Providing for basic needs is just one way that United Way of Marathon County is lifting community members to financial stability.

Lunch will be included - all you have to bring is your willingness to learn and your helping hands!
