RSVP is part of a national movement of senior volunteer service programs called AmeriCorps Seniors. Senior volunteers ages 55 and older are placed in community and government agencies to address pressing community needs. RSVP volunteers serve in a variety of settings such as schools, nutrition sites, health facilities, shelters, and other nonprofit agencies.
In addition to helping the community when you volunteer, research shows that volunteering is good for you!
When you volunteer with RSVP you can:
- Improve your health, happiness, and well-being
- Meet new people and make new friends
- Attend monthly social events and informational programs
- Attend the annual recognition celebration
United Way RSVP offers educational programs including free Blood Pressure Screenings. (Check back for updated schedules. ) You can learn more about all of their activities in the RSVP Monthly Newsletter.
